and Attire Policy Attendance and Health Policy It is our desire that our children get the most out of CHELC activities. This necessitates regular attendance to scheduled classes. However, a sick child does not retain knowledge and is a hindrance to the learning of other students. The following guidelines are to help you decide if your child should attend class or other CHELC functions: A Child With the Following is Too Sick to Attend:
It is okay to bring a child who feels fine but is:
Matthew 22:37-39 "Jesus replied, 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with your entire mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' " Conduct We desire for our children to learn in an environment that is wholesome and free from unnecessary distractions. Therefore, we cannot permit the disregard of rules to negatively affect the classroom environment or the activities we participate in, or cause us to lose privileges to meet in a given facility, or to reflect negatively on Christ on whom we represent. We expect children to practice self-discipline, obedience to authority, and Christ-like courtesy and respect of others.
Attire In dress, as well as in conduct, the children should present themselves in a manner that is honoring to God.
Discipline Policy Should the above expectations be violated, the teacher or leader will take disciplinary action as outlined below: 1st Offense: Student will receive a verbal correction. 2nd Offense: Student will be taken out of the class or situation and have the appropriate behavior explained to him or her. 3rd Offense: Student will be taken to his or her parent.
